What is with the cover art? It looks like it was drawn in the 1970s. Are those racoon eyes or sunglasses.
I read this book because it was recommended by a friend. Parts of it reminded me of one of my favorite books, "Bridges of Madison County". And it got me interested in reading "Pride and Prejudice". Pride and Prejudice was a great story - but I enjoyed Searching for Mr. Darcy even more. Good luck in writing your next book!
"Searching for Mr. Darcy" is a charming contemporary story about love lost and love found. I found the story especially enjoyable for romantics such as myself who are still hopeful of finding that magic love. From the very beginning of the book the reader is drawn into the story and involved with the characters. I read "Searching for Mr. Darcy" while on vacation in Italy and found the section that takes place in and around Florence particularly interesting. I was actually in the same places Megan, Duncan and Michael had been. Ms. Andi's novel is engaging and delightfully enchanting.
Story meanders and characters seem inconsistent at times. Disappointing overall. Neither nake characters are remotely like the true Mr. Darcy and Meg is no Elizabeth.
The pace of the book was slow and easy to read. I found it good for a rainy day read with a cup of hot tea. I will read more from this author.
After the good fortune of actually meeting Ms Andi at an adult educational program, my wife, our friend and I read this delightful novel. My wife, a historical fiction and occasional romance fan, enjoyed a book about love and romance without the usual graphic steam scenes. Our friend, a detective/mystery fan, enjoyed the character portrayal and development. (She dislikes Michael to this day!) I, a male first time romance reader, was captivated by the romantic tension and enjoyed Ms Andi's facility with dialog, especially the banter between Meg and Duncan. The upshot we three eagerly await the sequel.

Having read more than my share of sappy romances from first-time authors, what a pleasant surprise to find one with such intelligence and heart. In some places the action slows a bit - hence the four stars - but, overall, it is a delightful read and an impressive effort from a first-time author.
