When I finished this book, I felt like I had experienced a grand adventure. Of course, that is the reason why I read epic fantasy in the first place.The Supreme Warrior depicts an interesting world: a magical race which attacks the minds of human leaders, a dwarf Queen who can barely hold together her people due to warring sub-species, and tiny fire-breathing insects that grow into ravenous monsters.
Against this creative backdrop, The Supreme Warrior is the story of an aspiring Knight's struggle to break the culture of endless war that has plagued his society for generations. The Supreme Warrior addresses why conflict seems to be inescapable. Viril seems to think that warfare in rooted in the very structures and institutions that hold countries together, and that war is the result of human beings living in an ordered society.
Overall, The Supreme Warrior is a story of struggle and multiple betrayals. The intrigue in this book goes way beyond trying to put your guy on the throne. Instead, trading houses, banks, religious orders, and even peasants have their own goals and agendas. Occasionally, the multiple plot threads are hard to keep track of, but the surprising plot twists hold your interest. I highly recommend this fast-paced tale.

Maybe I should stop agreeing to read fantasy/adventure novels. It's not my thing, I'm clearly not the target audience, and therefore I usually don't "get it" while I'm reading. If it's written well and has an engaging plot, I will usually enjoy it. But these "epic fantasy" type novels are far too long and far too complicated for me to really get on board.
The Supreme Warrior has its moments of enjoyment. I like the main plot line with Calidon, aka Cal, but pretty much everything else bored the pants off of me. (OK, my pants stayed on. But still.) There's a lot of political intrigue stuff happening here that really didn't hold my interest.
I think people who are inclined to read fantasy novels might really enjoy this one, as it is written well and has a very likable protagonist. However, it's not my cup of tea, and I honestly struggled to get through it.

A young warrior is the errant piece in the plot of a tree dwelling race- The Hurd, to obliterate mankind. As the Hurd scheme and plot; using the greed and avarice in Kings, Barons and merchant Lords as a means to achieving their aim, the young warrior was the only cog in the wheel that threatened their success.
The book excels in expressing events relating to trade, and the political influence that drives it and reaps from its benefits. The scene where a silk trader, based on a tip off, managed to sell off his wares before a market crash resembles a scene that may have been played out, in our day and time.
In all, a well-written story, that displays powerful insights to the human nature.
A good book which keeps your attention, The Supreme Warrior has plenty of fast-paced action and more. The book's description says, "If you like epic fantasy that embroils you in vicious intrigue, takes you to far lands inhabited by strange creatures, and explores big themes like the relationship between war, religion, economics and ecology, then The Supreme Warrior is for you." I concur completely. The political scheming and back-stabbing are much more detailed than in any other fantasy I've read, and the author has created a complete and detailed world with credible characters. The story-line is intriguing, and as another reviewer has said, keeps you guessing about what will happen next. And what happens next is often not what you expected. The ending seems ripe for a sequel and I plan on watching for one.
This Book was for my son he read all the time. Could tell you whether the book was good or bad.

Got recommended by several in my family. Downloaded using the App on my cell phone. Been unable to put it down since getting it.
Good read but haven't finished it yet. I'm not disappointed.
I'm torn. This book is really great. I loved the characters, the story, the settings, yet I feel somehow - very slightly - wanting more. Not a sequel more. Just more within. That being said, I'm looking forward to the next book in this series, however many there may be. I will be waiting.
I recommend this book/series to anyone who likes this genre and to everyone else who just plain likes to read.
